The Blue Valley School District, covering portions of Overland Park, Leawood and Olathe has 38 National Merit finalists and 15 Presidential Scholar candidates. The Shawnee Mission School District, covering portions of Overland Park, Shawnee, Lenexa, Prairie Village, Leawood and northeast Johnson County Kansas, has 22 National Merit finalists and 4 Presidential Scholar candidates. The Olathe School District, covering portions of Olathe, Lenexa and Overland Park has 13 National Merit finalists and 5 Presidential Scholar candidates. The De Soto School District, covering portions of DeSoto, Lenexa and Shawnee has 3 National Merit Finalists.
