Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

Checking The Pulse Of The Kansas City Real Estate Market

The annual Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 11 AM but, before the parade begins, you can do what we did last year and take the kids to an early morning breakfast. We went to McCoy’s Public House and it turned out to be a great start to the day! If you’re considering doing the same, other than old reliable First Watch near Westport, there’s also the following St. Patrick’s Day breakfast options…

Browne’s Irish Market – Irish bacon served after 7 AM.
McCoy’s Public House – 12th annual breakfast served after 7 AM.
McFadden’s Sports Saloon – Shamrocks & Shenanigans Party after 6 AM.
Ragland Road – Traditional Irish breakfast served after 8 AM.

After the breakfast and the Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the partying really begins for many.  A new city ordinance will allow Westport bars to serve alcohol out doors if they pull a temporary ‘catering” permit. If they choose to do so, this will allow those Westport area establishments to compete with the Power Light District’s outdoor atmosphere.  The options across town are really limitless, but here’s a few of the popular St. Patrick’s Day stops…

Gaf
Howl At The Moon
Lew’s
Martini Corner
McCormich & Schmick’s
O’Dowd’s Little Dublin
Paddy O’Quigley’s
The Blue Moos Bar
Waxy O’Shea’s

Why Is St. Patrick’s Day Celebrated?
St. Patrick’s Day was initially a religious holiday to honor St. Patrick, who introduced Christianity to Ireland during the 5th century. Since that time, St. Patrick’s Day has evolved into a huge celebration of all things Irish.
